Rereading Torah Towards Liberation

Thereupon Pharaoh sent for Joseph, and he was rushed from the dungeon. He had his hair cut and changed his clothes, and he appeared before Pharaoh. — Gen 41:14

The biblical Joseph’s story is a reminder of the need, in detention and prison, for clean clothes and access to hygiene, an important element for well-being at any time and a crucial need for health in this time of pandemic. This is also true of people in re-entry, who too often find access to the basics difficult upon release.
